ProImage to announce Version 5.0 at IFRA

Or Akiva, Israel – 11th September, 2006:   ProImage has today released details of the new software that it is to launch at Ifra Expo, Amsterdam.

It includes NewsWay Blaze, an easy-to-install boxed PDF workflow solution for small circulation newspapers, iNewsProof to provide internet proofing and approval, and the new version 5.0 of it’s comprehensive NewsWay newspaper workflow automation solution.

NewsWay Version 5.0 provides full PDF and TIFF pre-press workflow, for single or multiple sites, and is even more tightly integrated with CtP and press functionality.

A new press plate allocation tool provides the option to define the position of each plate on the press (the tower, cylinder and location on the cylinder). Using the plate allocation tool NewsWay will calculate the required number of plates to be made, and will output the plates with appropriate text annotation and barcode for sorting.

NewsWay Version 5.0 also provides support for the import of data from a range of press control systems.  It has capabilities of cross-referencing the press plan with an editorial plan to ensure that the editorial pagination and colour configuration can be printed.  Version 5.0 tightens and makes more efficient the ABB MPS / NewsWay integration, and incorporates a new MPS Import Wizard.

NewsWay version 5.0 also provides an embedded RIP, a preflight plug-in, a distiller plug-in, an SQL based production reporting capability, and an imposition engine for both TIFF and PDF files.

Sitting outside of the newspaper’s firewall iNewsProof provides Internet proofing and approval without jeopardizing production security. The iNewsProof server provides the facility for authorized users to view and approve advertisements or pages. Once approved, the iNewsProof server will communicate via an encrypted link with the NewsWay production server, and the approved pages will continue in the workflow. This provides a secure option for an advertiser or remote user to view, and grant approval, without the need to connect to the main production server.

The new version also provides a new enhanced GUI and improved security.
