also latest NewsWay Lite on show at IfraExpo
STAND No.
B205
8th October,
2007: At IfraExpo ProImage (www.newsway.com) is showing the new version
5.1 of its comprehensive NewsWay newspaper
workflow automation solution.
NewsWay Version 5.1 provides full PDF and TIFF
pre-press workflow for single or multiple sites, and facilitates tight
integration with CtP and press functionality.
Version 5.1, with its enhanced feature set, includes support for
the latest PDF file formats, increased output performance, composite view,
reader spread view, fan-out definition per press, and creep support for four
and eight-up pages, together with many new Web client features.
A new press plate allocation tool provides
the option to define the position of each plate on the press (the tower,
cylinder and location on the cylinder). Using the plate allocation tool NewsWay will calculate the required number of plates to be
made, and will output the plates with appropriate text annotation and barcode
for sorting.
NewsWay Version 5.1 also provides support for the
import of data from a range of press control systems. It has capabilities
of cross-referencing the press plan with an editorial plan to ensure that the
editorial pagination and colour configuration can be
printed.
NewsWay version 5.1 supports an embedded RIP, a
preflight plug-in, a distiller plug-in, an SQL based production reporting
capability, and an imposition engine for both TIFF and PDF files.
Version 5.1 also tightens and makes more
efficient the integration of ABB’s MPS Plateworkflow
(developed by ProImage) with ABB’s Production
software, and incorporates a new MPS Import Wizard.
NewsWay Lite
The very powerful feature set of NewsWay
addresses the highly complex needs of newspapers publishing multi-edition,
multi-zone publications with seamless integration to third party software and
equipment. Not every publishing or printing concern needs that amount of
sophistication.
NewsWay Lite has been
developed especially for the publisher with more limited requirements, yet it
still addresses the fundamental workflow and output management requirements of
the smaller newspaper and its printing operations.
